We are so excited to launch our revamped Giving Garments collection for 2020. We’re sweater weather fans, and #cozyszn is really where we thrive, however, when the days get shorter and temperatures drop we’re reminded that not everyone might be ready or able to bundle up.

When launched our first rendition of our Giving Toques back in 2016 the goal was to spread warmth and community initiatives to homeless organizations in Canada. Our Giving Garments collection was created on a buy one, give one basis. Essentially, you buy a Giving Toque or pair of Giving Socks and we donate one to homeless organizations across Canada. Everything we do at Local Laundry aims to build and support communities, however, we know we can’t take on this initiative alone. We wanted to make it easy for our community to get involved and be a part of our mission.

For our 2020 Giving Garments collection, we are elevating the whole vibe with a new redesigned Canadian made toque. Now available in camel, black and hot pink, the Giving Toque is 100% high bulk acrylic with a 2 ply toque with a folded cuff for additional width and length PLUS a custom interior content label so you know it’s a Giving Toque! To date, our customers have allowed us to donate over 2,000 toques to homeless organizations across Canada including the Calgary Drop-In Centre, Youth Services Bureau of Ottawa and the Red Door Family Shelter in Toronto.

2019 was the first year we released our Giving Socks in grey & red and we are happy to say we’ve restocked these bad boys and added another colour offering into the mix, black & red. Our Giving Socks aim to keep you toe-sty… get it? A classic, made from wool these black or grey socks are essential for keeping you toe-sty during the months. Whether you’re hitting the slopes, cozying up by a fire or sipping craft beer the 2020 Giving Socks are essential to your winter wardrobe. Our Giving Socks are Canadian made and are 50% wool, 25% polyester and 25% acrylic and have the benefit of wool and warmth without the itch that typically comes along that 100% wool. When fully pulled up, these socks reach up to the mid-calf making them perfect under all winter footwear or on their own.

The sole intention for our Giving Garments relaunch is to equip Canadians in vulnerable communities with basic essentials like toques & socks. Socks and Toques are one of the most important things that homeless organizations need for their clients. Keep you and someone in need warm this winter. Help us help Canadian homeless organizations to ensure that everybody is ready for winter. Thanks to people like you who have supported our Canadian-made Giving Toque we have donated over 2,000 toques in the last two years to homeless shelters and organizations in Calgary, Edmonton, Ottawa and Toronto.
