WHY WE MADE THIS: CAN GIVING TOQUE
One of our goals for 2022 is to have a diversified product lineup of garments. We thought what better way to kick off 2022 than with a fresh addition to our CAN Collection.
The CAN Giving Toque is the newest arrival to our CAN Collection. The CAN Collection, our second ever collection to the Local Laundry brand, allows our customers to rep their roots or their love for the Canadian landscape. Featuring our own trademarked CAN logo, we created the CAN Collection in 2016 for Canadians and beyonds’ love for Canada. Unlike a lot of Canadian branded clothing, it’s entirely made of all of our garments in Canada.
Although it might be warm where you are, it definitely still winter here in Canada, and trust us, Canadians never have enough toques. Seriously, Canadians even wear toques in the summer. A big trend in the clothing industry for 2022 is colour, colour and more colour. In deciding the colour for the CAN Giving Toque, it was a straightforward decision, bright fiery colour and with a dash of Canadian pride, which brought us to the limited edition fiery red!
A brand promise behind our garments is to supply our customers with socially conscious goods that build community. The CAN Giving Toque is as it states a Giving Garment. The products in our Giving Garments collection all donate back to vulnerable communities. Every time a Giving Garment is purchased, we donate one to a charity supporting those in need. To date, we donated 1000s of toques, mittens, blankets and socks to charities all across Canada.
Previously, our Giving Toques have only highlighted our secondary Local Laundry logo as a small tab stitched off-centre on the garment. We expanded the designs and attributes of our Giving Toques and bring back a limited edition colour and tried-and-true CAN patch that we know and love so much. As an ode to Canadians and lovers of Canada, we wanted the CAN Giving Toque to reflect the tenacity of the Canadian landscape with a fire-engine hot red colour.
