The Urban Exposure Project, presented by Gen Next, a United Way of Calgary and Area initative

Gen Next, a United Way of Calgary and Area initiative, is excited to present the Urban Exposure Project Exhibit. The Urban Exposure Project (UEP) is an annual photography program that invites participants to learn about social issues impacting our city while learning how to tell stories through photography. The program includes technical photography training and explores some of our city’s most #unignorable issues.

Over the last 10 weeks, UEP participants have explored our communities while capturing social issues such as poverty, homelessness and social isolation through their camera lenses. Each of these individuals have their own perspective on these issues – some learning stories from people living in the streets, and others taking an abstract outlook on how their photography project represents these social issues our city is facing.

On Wednesday, June 19th Gen Next is hosting an exhibit where each of the participants will showcase their photography and stories from what they’ve learned over the last ten weeks. Gen Next is teaming up with local vendors such as Local Laundry and Milk Jar Candles to host a small market for attendees. 10% of all proceeds from these vendors’ sales will be generously donated to United Way of Calgary and Area to help those in our community who need it most.
