Guest Blog: All-Stars For Kids - Supporting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Calgary and Area
Over the next two months, we will be working with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Calgary and Area. In August and September, we will be donating $1 from each net new newsletter subscriber to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Calgary and Area and their All-Stars for Kids Campaign. Here is some more information on them.
WHAT IS ALL-STARS FOR KIDS?
• All-Stars For Kids is a fundraising campaign in support of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Calgary and Area that runs each year throughout the month of August.
• This year, long-time mentoring champions Gary Nissen and Qualico have generously offered to match all donations up to $125,000, for a grand total of $250,000.
• All of the money raised is used to create and empower life-changing mentoring relationships for children and youth in and around Calgary who are facing adversity.
AN ALL-STAR IS...
• A caring individual
• A positive role model
• A mentor
• A hero
• A champion
• A community-minded individual
WHY SUPPORT ALL-STARS FOR KIDS?
• The funds raised from this campaign will help create and empower life-changing mentoring relationships for children and youth in our community who are dealing with significant life challenges that no one should have to face alone.
• We all have an important role to play in ensuring that young people in our community have the support they need to become resilient and realize their potential.
• When you support mentoring you are not just investing in the future of a child, you are making an investment in the future of our entire community.
• When we encourage young people to reach their potential, it shines brightly everywhere.
