We recently donated to KidSport Calgary and had the pleasure learning more about their organization and the impact they create every day in our communities, friends, family, and children! We can all remember dreaming big as a kid, wanting to be a doctor, a firefighter, a hockey player in the NHL, an Olympian, or becoming the next Michael Jordan. Here at KidSport Calgary & Area, we are trying to make some of those dreams become a reality for the youth in our community! We believe that no kid should be left on the sidelines and all should be given the opportunity to experience the positive benefits of organized sports!
KidSport is a National not-for-profit organization providing financial assistance to qualified kids 18 and under for their sport registration fees. Through our application process, we provide funding to kids so they can have the opportunity to participate in the sport of their choice! KidSport Calgary is a local chapter, distributing locally raised dollars back into Calgary and the surrounding communities supporting qualified families. How amazing is that?! Thanks to the continual support and generosity of local donors, volunteers, partners, events and staff, KidSport Calgary is the largest chapter in Canada based on the number of kids we are able to support each year! Having the chance to make an impact on a kid’s life in our community, giving them the opportunity to be exposed to the many benefits of participating in organized sport is what makes us tick at KidSport Calgary & Area.

In 2017, we were able to fund over 4,900 kids, distributing over $1.33 million locally raised dollars back into the surrounding communities! We are planning on exceeding those numbers in 2018 through many great events, donors, and partnerships!
We are fortunate to be apart of a variety of events that take place each year in support of KidSport Calgary! Some of our favourites are the Calgary Corporate Challenge Human Bonspiel - February 5th -12th, (who doesn’t want to participate in human bowling!?), Brian Burke’s Targets for Kids – June 9th, Cowboys Wing Off – March 8th (all you can eat wings!), Iconic Electric and Controls Turkey Bowl – November 22nd (a full day of American Football, food and drinks!), and of course the Eric Francis Pizza Pigout - TBD (all you can eat pizza!).
