Calgary Heritage Roasting Co. Guest Blog

Happy Thanksgiving Calgary! Today we are super excited to bring to you another great guest blog, this time from our pals at Calgary Heritage Roasting Co! Sit back, digest your turkey and have a read, enjoy!

 Our Story:

Calgary Heritage Roasting Company is built by the wilderness that drives it. We meticulously marry fresh and fragrant coffee with the urge to explore. The company found its inspiration over a percolated cup of coffee on a backpacking trip one morning in the rolling hills of Alberta. Since then, the company's foundation continues to grow and evolve during backyard BBQs, weekend mountain adventures, and late nights under star-filled skies and scotch-filled glasses.

Like our beans, the love grew naturally. Through experimentation and plenty of time, we learned more about the art of coffee roasting. We finally realized we had something special. It's the homegrown, outback, rugged, mountain-fresh, clear skies sort of thing that Alberta is all about.

What We Do:

At Calgary Heritage Roasting Company we provide our customers with fresh coffee that is roasted to order. We work with single origin coffee beans never blending. We have a strong belief that each individual coffee bean from a specific region and country bode their own unique flavours for which they deserve showcasing. CHRC currently provides a selection of four different coffee types. All of these coffees have been selected for specific flavour notes; these notes reflect dark chocolate, milk chocolate, nutty, and smoky flavours. CHRC is unique in that we sell green unroasted coffee beans, educate our customers on the benefit of green unroasted coffee beans, and teach our customers how to roast them. We supply through our website www.calgaryheritageroastingco.com and amazing companies such as Meraki Supply Co, Greater Goods Boutique and Tea Bar, and Buttermilk Fine Waffles. Our list is continually expanding so be sure to watch for where our coffee will be served next.

Why We Do:

Calgary Heritage Roasting Company (CHRC) was forged with Albertans in mind. Alberta has a culture similar too yet different from the rest of Canada. We are go-getters who don’t mind working hard for an honest wage. We are adventurers who love to explore the vastness of our own backyard. We like simplicity, things of high quality, and supporting local. We are a little bit old school yet retain a polished finish. Lastly, we always come together to support our communities when the tough gets going and the going gets tough. This is a huge driver for why Mike and I started Calgary Heritage Roasting Company. We wanted to create a coffee company and experience that was true to our culture and experiences.

Who We Support and Who Supports Us:

Calgary Heritage Roasting Company has a unique program called “Bubbas Buds.” Bubba is the name of the grizzly bear that is found within our logo. He is our mascot.  Think of Bubbas Buds as a brand ambassador program but with heart! We want more than just a few awesome people talking positively about our company. We want a core group of individuals that have the same morals and values as we do, that believe in the brand, want to build a strong community and are excited over the idea of forming a family. Through our Bubbas Buds program we have an online blog where any of our supporters can write a small article on an incredible adventure they have had throughout their life. We are all about sharing. We want our community to be engaged, to learn about new hikes, fishing spots, new adventures, or how to learn a new skill. This is what CHRC is about and certainly what Bubba is all about. We further help support two Olympic hopefuls through the Bubbas Buds program in hopes to seeing them succeed along their life and Olympic journey in whatever capacity that may be. They have also put in more than their fair share of hard work for us. Helping one another are what friendships and community are for.

Here at Calgary Heritage Roasting Company we continually meet amazing new people and companies along our journey. It is quite incredible to see the vivaciousness of our city. The support provided by so many. AT CHRC we like to say that Calgary is an open arms city; a city that will greet whomever with open arms.

Stay Wild

Mike & Jamie
