If you’re like most Canadians, you rarely go a day without socks. They keep you warm from the cold and feeling cozy when needed. There’s quite possibly no better feeling than putting on a pair of soft socks. The best things about our new Giving Socks is that you’ll never forget which socks go on what foot. Unless you’re getting wild and want your feet to see ‘LAUNDRY LOCAL’, which is definitely a vibe 🤣
We restocked our 2022 Giving Socks, loaded with new colours and ready to tickle your feet with comfort. Not only are we bringing back our Local Laundry decorated Giving Socks, but in 3 new colours. Featuring white and black, black and white, white and red, and white and blue, we’ve got a little something for everyone!
We made our Giving Socks with bamboo cotton. Bamboo cotton is moisture-wicking, and naturally antimicrobial so the fabric doesn’t hold on to odors as much as regular cotton. Being a more premium fabric, Bamboo is super soft. Plus, Bamboo cotton is sensory-friendly! Given the soft nature of bamboo, it doesn’t feel bunchy or scratchy against the body and skin and offers superior softness over standard cotton or blended cotton fabrics.
The goal of our Giving Socks is not only to keep your feet toe-sty… [get it?!], but to give back to those in need. When you buy a pair of socks, we donate one to an organization supporting those in need. The sole intention for our Giving Garments relaunch is to equip Canadians in vulnerable communities with basic essentials like toques and socks. Socks and Toques are one of the most important things that homeless organizations need for their clients. Keep you and someone in need warm this winter. Help us help Canadian homeless organizations to ensure that everybody is ready for winter.
When we launched our first rendition of our Giving Garment collection back in 2016, the goal was to spread warmth and community initiatives to homeless organizations in Canada. Everything we do at Local Laundry aims to build and support communities. However, we know we can’t take on this initiative alone. We wanted to make it easy for our community to get involved and be part of our mission.
Over the last five years, we’ve been able to donate to charities in Calgary, Edmonton, Ottawa and Toronto that are supporting vulnerable communities in need and have been able to donate over 5,000 pairs of socks.
Thank you to our communities of Locals who have continued to support us. Not only would we not be able to donate the amount of garments that we have, but so we can continue to release new garments and test fun, exciting products! Check out our new Giving Socks here :)
