LOCAL LAUNDRY'S SHOP LOCAL GIFT GUIDE

The holidays are a great time for us to show our support of local businesses. We are encouraging our community to shop small this season. Supporting local businesses empowers the Canadian supply chain, enables Canadian workers to earn liveable wages, reduces a business’s carbon footprint and keeps our dolla-dolla bills in the economy!

If you’re stumped on how you can select local shops, our team has picked some of their favourite places to shop both online and in-store. Scroll through to see what our team has chosen as their token local brands and stores for you to shop!

Dustin

Online store: Devon & Lang

Founded and designed in Calgary, Devon + Lang builds better basics through innovation and iteration. How you ask? Through their underwear, of course! Devon + Lang specializes in well-made basics meant for longer wear and comfortable living. BONUS! Devon + Lang underwear is sourced from sustainable fabrics that prioritize the environment!

Brick & mortar: James Joyce Irish Pub

As one of our favourite Irish pubs in Calgary, the James Joyce encompasses hospitality and authenticity while incorporating true Irish cuisine into its menu. However, the James Joyce is not just a pub, but home to a mini-museum to all things Irish and is filled with artifacts and antiques from many countries in Ireland and is worth spending some extra time to take everything in!

Brick & mortar: Milk Jar Candle Co

It’s pretty clear that we’re big fans of Milk Jar Candle Co, seeing as we’ve collaborated on not one but TWO candles over the years! Not only does Milk Jar create inviting space and support inclusion and connection, but they donate $1 from every candle to their nonprofit partners!

Online store: Rviita Energy Tea

Rviita is a type of energizing tea for fueling your day and your adventures. Not only is Rviita Energy Tea a delicious blend of tea-based caffeine, golden organic honey, fruit juice and vitamins, but also created to fuel productivity and give you energy without the crash! Fun fact when Rviita was first getting started, during a blind taste test, Rob, one of the Rviita co-founders, said Rviita’s tea tasted like “battery acid”! But you can take our word for it. Now Rviita tastes nothing like battery acid!

Brick & mortar: Luke’s Drug Mart

Family-owned and Calgary’s oldest Pharmacy, Lukes Drug Mart takes the cake for being one of our first-ever retailers. A one-stop-shop for everyday living, Lukes Drug Mart also offers luxuries to make your day-to-day even MORE enjoyable!
