Fuse 33 - No Time Like the Present

In today’s society, we have lost the connection to the items we own. Our styles are controlled by seasons and sales. Our hand-me-downs are an old iPhone or that cheap set of towels we got at the local supermarket chain. Gone are the days of the old family canoe made by Grandpa and the set of hand forged cast iron skillets made by the blacksmith down the street.

But why? Are we really saving money by not buying items that last? Are we ok that our everyday goods are made with little or no traceability to their origins?

It’s time to change that. Time to remember how to create things with our hands. Time to bring industry back home. Time to connect with our community and build our future. And it begins in a space like ours…

At Fuse33 Makerspace, we have been hard at work building a playground for creatives. We believe that Calgarians have what it takes to create the next chapter for our great city. And by connecting with each other and working together, we can create a better future for generations to come.

We are the place for everyone. For beginners looking to learn new skills, come join a class or workshop. For those with a buried dream to create, our workshop and community of makers are here to help you spread your wings. And for those of you who find yourself in a time of transition, we are a place to explore new horizons for you at any age. Take your passions and make them real at Fuse33 Makerspace.

Our wood and metal shops are graced by ticketed tradespeople building their side hustle. Our sewing lab has stitched the fabric of Calgary’s film industry. Our 3D printers are a gateway for minds young and old. Every day people are making unique pieces that grace homes and get passed on to others. Why do we think that handmade presents and cards only come from kids?

Through community building efforts, we have contributed to our neighbourhood’s growth of great ingredients for all, and inclusive gathering spaces. Our family is filled with diversely talented individuals that come together under a common bond. And this family is growing on a daily basis.

So I ask you, what are you waiting for? Why not build that bed frame you’ve been putting off, or that gift that comes from the heart? Why not have a “Girl’s Night” building planters?
