We recently teamed up with local Photographer, Lionel Migrino, to share his story, his work and a few of the people he's worked with. Take a look and see more of his work on Instagram at @lmigrino. Here is what he has to say:
.
"My name is Lionel Migrino and I am a local photographer in Calgary. I am just an ordinary guy living with Cerebral Palsy (CP). Even though I am living with CP, I don’t let the disability define me because I believe anyone can live their lives without any limitations and can do anything that they set their minds to.
.
I first got introduced to photography two years ago. At first, photography was just a “hobby” for me but it quickly became a passion of mine. I fell in love with photography because it helps form connections with new people and every photo capture have a story to tell. My goals in the future are to improve as a photographer and to further my photography career. I also want to improve disability awareness in our society and help other people with disabilities get empowered!"

Lauren Migrino was born and raised in Calgary and has recently moved back after living in Vancouver for the past 5 years. She attended the University of British Columbia and although she loves Calgary, she misses eating the cheap/delicious sushi from Vancouver (and also the donuts)! She is passionate about social justice, building community, and advocating for vulnerable populations within Calgary. Lauren hopes to pursue a Masters in Social Work at the University of Calgary to help marginalized individuals and families - @lornrose
This amazing, beautiful girl name is Carly Lavender. She is born and raised in Calgary, who loves spending time outdoors and adventuring in the mountains with her dog, Henry. She loves embracing the western Calgarian heritage! Carly is an outgoing individual and is not afraid to help others in need. This is why she became a nurse. She is also a sucker for travelling and experiencing what other countries have to offer! @cgclav
