RYDER'S BAMBOO CREW

Ready to support Autism, Locals? Our limited edition, Ryder’s Bamboo Crew is the newest garment in our 2022 Ryder’s Collection. Bamboo fabric is sensory-friendly. Given the soft nature of bamboo cotton, it doesn’t feel bunchy or scratchy against the body and offers superior softness over standard cotton or blended cotton fabrics.

The Assist strives to make the world a more inclusive place one sensory kit at a time. Sensory Kits created from the donations rendered from Ryder’s Collection will be donated to the Autism Aspergers Friendship Society (AAFS).

Features:

  1. Sensory-friendly
  2. Limited edition dusty rose design
  3. Made with bamboo cotton, which is moisture-wicking and naturally antimicrobial
  4. Features a raglan cut and seam
  5. 100% made in Canada

2022 marks the fourth year collaborating with Kodette LaBarbera and her family. Since launching the first-ever Ryder’s Crew in 2019 in celebration of her son Ryder, who was diagnosed with Autism in 2012, we’ve gone from one single garment to eight pieces ranging from hoodies, t-shirts and toques. To date, Ryder’s Collection has donated over $18,000 for Autism charities throughout Canada while continuing to raise awareness and share stories of those throughout the community.

We could make our clothing cheaper.

But then we would need to replace our premium fabrics with material that's milled and dyed overseas using toxic chemicals, utilize factories that subject their workers to unsafe working conditions and below poverty wages, and ultimately produce a product that would only last a few wears before ending up in the landfill.

We're not interested in making cheaper clothing. It's not good for you, for the workers involved in the process, or for our planet.

Instead, we choose to make our all of our products responsibly here in Canada, adhering to strict labour and environmental regulations using high quality fabrics and materials all while giving back to community. This results in a higher quality product that is built to last years, instead of months, all while contributing to a better community, and a better planet.

This garment is made from our premium bamboo blend.

  • 70% Rayon from Bamboo
  • 30% Organic Cotton
  • Superior fabric for its softness and functionality
  • Pre-washed, pre-shrunk
  • Functional due to its moisture-wicking and anti-bacterial properties
  • Bamboo crop consumes far less water to grow

    Great when on sale

Too expensive not on sale. Value is good when on sale.

Hi Natalie. Thank you for your feedback and comment. We pride ourselves on manufacturing responsibly here in Canada. We adhere to strict Canadian environmental and labour laws, while crafting a high quality garment that is made to last. This results in a much higher cost of garment than overseas manufacturing. While it may seem too expensive to some, we view it as the cost of responsible business :)

    Love Local Laundry!

Got my first sweatshirt from Local Laundry and love the quality and the mission of the company. I am between sizes and was unsure which would be best, but a quick trip to the warehouse (with my dog) was helpful in deciding fit. Connor and the crew were super helpful and welcoming.
